The Neptune R900 Meter
Interface Unit (MIU) provides utilities with a reliable
and economical RF meter reading solution through improved
meter reading accuracy and efficiency, increased meter
reader safety, and enhanced customer care. The R900 provides
a low cost of ownership with its high output power that
maximizes range to increase read success rates and reduce
reading time. Neptune's R900 is field-proven with more
than 2.5 million MIUs in service today. The R900 functions
in walk-by, mobile, and targeted fixed network data collection
systems, allowing utilities to create a customized meter

Data Collectors
If your field data collection
needs are strictly for a monthly or quarterly billing
cycle, walk-by or mobile RF technology may be the most
cost-effective solutions. Neptune's walk-by and mobile
RF technologies are capable of reading Neptune's R900s
and Itron electric ERTs / R300s1. If you require more
detailed usage information for your commercial or industrial
users, a targeted fixed network may be appropriate. If
you require your meter readers to be cross-trained to
function as field service technicians, a combination meter
reading / service order application may be the optimal
solution. |

Handhelds - CE5320
Neptune's ARB ® Utility
Management Systems automate the process of reading
and billing meters in a walk-by mode. The meter reading
software on the CE5320 handheld computer efficiently
guides the meter reader from premise to premise, determining
which meters are to be read either manually, probed, or
via radio frequency communications regardless of industry
type. Upon route completion, meter readings are exported
to the host software which seamlessly interfaces with
the CIS/Billing system. The CE5320 offers the capability
to reliably collect, store, and manage meter readings
throughout the entire work day. It is designed to operate
in harsh environments providing a level of hardware reliability
second to none. The CE5320 works seamlessly with ARB
N_SIGHT. |

Hybrid Mobile
Solution - TRX920
In the past, utilities
have had to choose between a walk-by system and a mobile
system. As the industries first true multi-functional
device, the TRX920 allows the utility to do both. The
TRX920 is comprised of the CE8640X tablet computer, receiver,
RF filter, roof mount antenna and in-vehicle mounting
cradle. When in the vehicle docking cradle, the TRX920
is a mobile data collection unit. When the tablet computer
is removed from the docking cradle, it becomes a walk-by
handheld capable of meter reading (RF, manual keyed entry,
and probed accounts). The tablet computer is ideal for
service work orders with its ergonomic form factor and
1/2 VGA screen. |

Mobile - MRX920 &
MRX 950
Neptune's mobile data collection
systems are designed to maximize productivity and minimize
the labor costs associated with the mobile meter reading
process. The MRX920 is compatible with Neptune's R900
RF MIUs, and the MTX950 is compatible with Neptune's R900
RF MIUs as well as Itron's electric ERTs and R300s. Both
mobile data collectors reliably receive RF-based meter
readings and accurately and efficiently communicate the
collected meter reading data to Neptune's meter reading
software which enables and facilitates the meter reading
and customer billing processes. Both the MRX920 and the
MTX950 have the ability to collect over 70 meter readings
per second from up to a mile away and can devour meter
readings from the most dense urban routes from distances
that not only maximize meter reading success rates and
drive-time efficiency but make our competitors turn green
with envy. |

R900 GPRS Gateway
R900 GPRS Gateway is a targeted fixed
network system that automatically collects, stores, and
communicates meter reading data to a host software application
located in the utility office. The system is designed
to strategically collect data from "high value"
industrial/commercial/institutional (ICI) accounts and
specialty metering applications. Access to this information
provides increased knowledge of customer usage patterns
and results in reduced meter reading costs, improved meter
application and sizing capability, increased distribution
system knowledge, and improved customer service. Powerful
graphics capabilities allow the utility to monitor for
leaks and develop usage profile information to improve
conservation and efficiency. When used with E-Coder, usage
profiles in 15-minute intervals are possible. GPRS
Gateway can
be deployed as a stand-alone system or operated in parallel
with Neptune's handheld and/or mobile data collection
systems as a hybrid automated data collection solution. |

The FloSearch II System is a
PC-based system designed for customer usage profiling and demand
pattern analysis. It provides a means for utilities to analyze
usage patterns, resolve billing complaints, identify leak situations,
and properly size meters for the application.

Large Meter
Service Program
Neptune provides an easy solution to maintain large meter accuracy
over time through their UME exchange program. The unitized measuring
element is the heart of a large Neptune meter and when properly
maintained can ensure meter accuracy and preserve meter revenue.

Seer
SEER ® (Statistical Evaluation for the Enhancement of Revenue)
is an analytical tool developed and patented by Neptune using
actual test data from more than 10,000 large meters of various
manufacturers, types, sizes, and ages at utilities across North
America. The test results were analyzed and modeled using a
multiple linear regression, designed to enable SEER to determine
meter accuracy to within a 95% confidence interval without the
need to perform an on-site test of the meter. For over ten years,
Neptune has been using SEER to assist utilities to quickly determine
meter replacement priority and payback. SEER has helped utilities
implement effective conservation programs and equitable billing
practices, while saving operational costs. SEER is helping utilities
identify and initiate self-funding meter replacement programs.
